COOKING THE DANISH WAY

22 January 2018

Our LIQUORICE SYRUP will awaken your taste buds. The subtle undertone of scented aniseed means a little syrup goes a long way. Use it to flavour coffee and hot chocolate, drizzle over ice cream or use in smoothies.  Or why not try drizzled on bacon (think maple syrup) or slow roast shallots in the lovely sticky black stuff!

Mild and aromatic, LIQUORICE POWDER can be sprinkled on top of your latte or used in place of sugar for a tasty sweet treat.  We love mixing it with salt (1 part liquorice to 3 parts salt) and rubbing it over lamb for a delicious marinade.

Wild organic pollens are the most glorious accompaniment to fish.  Try our FENNEL POLLEN sprinkled over scallops just before serving or simply add to pan fried fish fillets for an amazing taste sensation.   You can also add to chocolate truffles or home-baked bread.

DILL POLLEN is great in a shellfish risotto, or use it to make your own home cured salmon – gravadlax.

Thought that salt was salt? Think again!  SALTVERKS salt is produced with 100% geothermal energy from hot springs in Iceland.

To give your cooking a taste of the rugged North, be sure to try our flavoured salts:  Arctic Thyme, Birch Smoked, Liquorice and Seaweed.

High quality salts made from the purest sources in a sustainable way.

ALL OF THESE INGREDIENTS ARE AVAILABLE TO PURCHASE AT SNAPS + RYE
